SLOGG!!!!!!!

So I say to my Ipo,
"Nice Slogg Eh Har Valar."
What we have been doing lately is walking into the woods following deer trails and looking for untouched Powder fields to SLOGG through.
How to Slogg:
NO snowshoes
NO poles
NO worries
YES Boots
YES Snow pants
Yes Hot Toddy's afterwords :)

Go into the woods and find the Deep stuff,
the deeper the better
and slogg through,
You are now a pro Slogger.

Who wants to go Slogging?

any snow ninjas out there? I think so

These are the works of other Snow Ninjas.... Enjoy.

Awesome to see people play in the snow....
Send me a pic of something you have done.

Once in a while you get shown the light In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

my face blessed by beautiful Colorado sunshine, trusty shovel in hand I head out to shovel last nights offering of snow, only an inch at best but out I go any way. do I have to? we already know the answer to that one.
carving the snow into imaginary landscapes that only I can see, a feeling comes over me.

Sometimes I think of water colors when I am "Ninjapimpin" the driveway. in the same way water can change a watercolor landscape, the sun keeps mutating anything I create so fast it can only be " Enjoyed in the now".
Broad brush strokes of my shovel reveals ever changing snow shapes, simple geometric designs at first but getting more interesting.

with every fresh snow comes the OPPORTUNITY to shovel again.
It may seem odd to most

and OCD to the rest
to sculpt a hundred feet of  drive way snow.
but as for me
shoveling fluffy snow
( after the snow blower does all the hard work)
in this wonderful sunshine
and creating a snowy wonderland
seems a good why to spend a bit of time.

Ahhhh the zen of shoveling the drive way

and it's cheaper then the gym. :)

Ninjapimpin

Ninjapimpin: Adj, to beautify something without being seen,

Well the ninja garden is covered with snow, we still walk through the frozen woods regularly
but the chance to create is limited at best.

what can one ninjapimp this time of year, Ah yes, the drive way.

Never get to old to play

sometimes

Sometimes, I HAVE to shovel the driveway, Sometimes I GET to shovel the driveway.

When it snows and the car must be available, I go out and clear the driveway. Now these days I have a snow blower that takes a lot of the work out of it. I like how I can carve an edge with it and make cool pathways,  even though it is a little sloppy it does the job. that's when I HAVE to do it usually a day or two later I GET to do the driveway This time with a trusty shovel and a little imagination.

Now most of my neighbors do what they have to, sometimes that isn't very much. That's cool to each their own, as for me
you might see me out in my driveway shoveling tiny amounts of snow and placing it just so, making rounded edges and straight lines. they think I'm meticulous, they think I'm overdoing it as they watch from their warm living rooms, what they don't know is that for a little while I'm just a kid playing in the snow.

                                                  " It's not cause I have to,
                                                                       It's cause I want to."

                                                                          Go play!

Tracks in the snow...

The other day I was walking to work through the ninja garden and noticed a bike track in the snow, My mind always wonders when some one has been in the woods. did they see it? did they like it? did they care?
As I was walking along, pondering, I came upon I.L.Y.K. scattered all over the snow. I looked around and noticed many other pieces had been kicked and broken. why would someone do that? strange, to destroy something that has nothing to do with anything. Was it the Bike rider? who knows. the next day I was walking through the woods again and went to another area and found Truck tire tracks through the woods
driving like a maniac dodging trees and over headstones in the cemetery. not only tearing up the land,
But somebody went out of there way to walk to EVERY stump art and smash and trash them, Strange.

The beauty of Ninja gardening is that it is temporary and ever evolving, so to think that this hater of beauty can have any effect on the garden is laughable for it just gives me a fresh canvas on witch I can paint my master peace.
Peace in Y'all

Changing of the Guard

As winter approaches My secret Ninja Garden, Many of the things I have done are returning to the earth as planed. Old man winter is taking over for me, Creating amazing patterns of snow and Ice, the forest changes from summer to winter, I go from caretaker to tourest. As I mentioned before( www.b1earthling.blogspot.com ) it is amazing that when man made things are left for too long nature takes over and returns it back to the original residents. So I am Enjoying the look of everything with a fresh coat of Frosting, Every hour changing from one to another depending on temperature and wind... NATURE Has Awesome tools.... I think Nature and I will work together on some projects this winter, I'm thinking Snow castles, Stay tuned :)

Easy stuff

So I have been doing some easy stuff and wanted to share it with you so that you might come up with some great Ideas of your own.
I have been getting into leaving smiles where I can ,
For others to find later.
Just clear a little circle in the
Dirt, leaves, pine needles etc...
Then make a smiley face
use rocks twigs bottle caps whatever,
Fun, Easy and if it brings a smile to someones face
SUCCESS!!!

Also I have found when you Twist a pine cone
into the bark of a pine tree
The stick.
This is a great way to BLING up a pine tree.
Have fun and send me a pic of your stuff
or at least leave a post.
Peace out my Ninjas

U 2 Can " Change the world"

I hear it all the time " You can't change the world" and I smile becouse I know
Its easy to change the world
Walking with my son this weekend on our trails
he asked " how do you change the world?"
I just bent down picked up a stone and tossed it 20 feet,
THERE I said I changed the world.

Some people change the world inventing a new Gadget,
some by fads or songs
 our hungry cameras  always there
to catch the next scandal.

I am not interested in changing THAT world
I'll leave that change to EARTHS Finest.
But MY world Ahhh yes lets talk about that world.
for that is a world I can change.

Lining a path with stones
or making a pyramide from dead logs
to whimsical stump art
I am changing the world in my own way
An art form that hopefully brings a smile
to the face of a fellow meanderer of the woods.

" Changing the world is NEVER exclusive
To any one person or Group"

Ninja Gardeners CREATE
For others to ponder to wonder and to inspire
The Greatest complement i could ever get
Is for someone to feel inspired to add something
to the canvas
This happened recently in the form of
two rocks and a golf ball that someone purposely
left for me to find.
Its nice for someone to see your work and comment on it.
Thanks girls for helping us
CHANGE THE WORLD

And away we go....

About five years ago, I started an Art project In Tn. Then I put it away, or so I Thought. My wife and I recently moved to Pagosa Springs Co.There I started on my Art Project again, When I stepped back to see if I was close to finishing.
I realized I probably would never finish.... The Earth is a Huge Canvas.

I am a Ninja Gardener and a Gorilla Landscaper and my Art medium is the woods. I randomly find a path in the woods or just an unassuming spot in Nature and I gather branches, stumps and rocks to create Temporary whimsical Scenes in Nature.
I guess you could say I was a kid that loved to build sand castles and I never got over it. Sand castles taught me many things like, Imagination is the souls playground,
Nothing lasts forever and
when you Create, you dance with the gods.
this will be my first attempt to share this personnel odyssey with anyone, I hope you enjoy, for I am only 1 Earthling and this is what I do.......

God IS Imagination.
Can you imagine that?

Every creature on this planet has Imagination.
Each Imagining its creation and creator,
One that equals their Imagination.
Humans have huge imaginations.

What do gods do?
They Create.
With a world full of the imaginary deity’s
Created from the Imaginations of millions Neighbors
That calls the Earth home.
AS these Gods, Goddess’s or any other concept
Any other something can imagine,
Are singing, swirling, dancing
Through our conciseness.
I realize,
When we create,

From the heart,
We hear the song,
Then Dance with the Gods.
Can you dig it?

You have noticed, I’m sure, little or sometimes not so little stacks of rocks Along trails. they are very common sight all over the world.
I have enjoyed every stack I have left behind,
knowing full well it may never be seen by me again.
The joy of Finding just the right rocks to leave behind,
Nature revealing just the right spot to leave the stack,
and Discovering the Balance that it takes

For your stack to last till the seasons change
and Clear the slate for next summers hikers,
to Find the Zen of stacking a few rocks along a trail...

This is probably the first lesson we get for being
a Ninja Gardener And a Gorilla Landscaper.

Leaving something behind that brought a smile to your face
To bring a smile to a strangers face.

As sandcastles left along a beach
Wash back into the sea
So do the adventures
imagined by its Creator.
Leaving your rock stack
Is our grown up way of
Playing sandcastles.

How to Gorilla Landscape:
Find a Place that you can create in Peace.
 (VERY IMPORTANT)

Stroll slowly around the canvas
            (EARTH)

Use only what is there.
(Rocks, Logs, Branches, etc)

Place them in any fashion that suits
YOU’RE IMAGINATION.
      (Very Important)

What you create is for YOUR amusement
Enjoy YOUR dance with the Gods.

What you create
IS TEMPORARY
(“You had to be there” art)

How to be a Ninja Gardener:
flat out
Pimp your woods.

A small pair of snipers, GLOVES
And you’re Imagination,
is all you need.
stealthily beautify
Wild shrubs,
Bonsai small junipers
Create an Imaginary world
As big as your canvas,
One you can walk around in.Then, let it dissolve,
Back into the Earth.
(Cue “Circle of life” here)

Last but not least
Breathe in, Breathe out
repeat as necessary,
And enjoy life.
